Trifole

A bittersweet portrait of a vanishing rural way of life, TRIFOLE is a gorgeous story of connection, shot on location in Piedmont, Italy.

28-year-old Dalia (co-writer Ydalie Turk) leaves London to check up on her ageing grandfather Igor (Umberto Orsini), an expert truffle hunter who lives in the picturesque but isolated Italian region of Piedmont. At first the two struggle to find common ground about anything other than Birba (The Truffle Hunters), his truffle-hunting dog, but Dalia soon discovers that her grandfather is behind on his mortgage repayments. With Birba in tow, she sets out to find the legendary lightning-struck truffle in the hopes of saving the family home, contenting with other hunters, the dangers of the forest, and the shady agricultural industry.
