Come to Daddy

‘’I’m not a murderer!” Norval (Elijah Wood) states frantically in the trailer for COME TO DADDY – but, at this point, he’s covered in blood and looking a little the worse for wear. Summoned by his long-estranged father, Brian (played with a very unhinged aura by Stephen McHattie) to his remote cabin by the sea, Norval is an entitled man-child looking to discover the father he hasn’t seen in decades. His father’s motivations are… less clear. And so ensues a gory, bizarre and gleeful (and chockablock with twists) romp, which covers both blood and guts as well as an unexpectedly emotional look at a broken relationship between father and son.
This black-as-night comedy is the directional debut from Kiwi film producer Ant Timpson, and his efforts will ensure you’ll find yourself feeling that your own family isn’t as dysfunctional as you once thought (and shake up your feeling about moustaches, too).
