Pride

An outstanding ensemble cast including Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Dominic West, Andrew Scott and Paddy Considine star in PRIDE; a British comic drama inspired by a remarkable true story. A Welsh mining community struggling to make ends meet during the 1984 miners’ strike receives a visit by the unlikeliest of allies – a group of gay and lesbian activists who decide to raise money for the village. Realising that they share common foes in Margaret Thatcher, the police and the conservative press, the London-based queer activists lend their support to striking coal miners.

A rousing British crowd-pleaser in the spirit of Billy Elliot and The Full Monty, PRIDE is a funny, affecting and truly inspiring film about two seemingly opposite communities who unite to form an extraordinary bond.
