Eleanor the Great

Oscar nominee June Squibb (Thelma) stars in ELEANOR THE GREAT; an emotional exploration of human connection from director Scarlett Johansson, making her feature debut.

When the witty and proudly troublesome 94-year-old Eleanor Morgenstein (Squibb) loses her best friend and roommate of 12 years, she moves from her retirement village in Florida to New York City to live with her daughter. After a mix-up on a day out, she accidentally attends a Holocaust support group, and in order to fit in, she tells her late friend’s moving story of survival and resilience as if it were her own. Nina (Erin Kellyman), a young student, hears the story and asks to profile Eleanor, allowing her lie to spiral beyond her control.
