Salvatore: Shoemaker of Dreams

Master filmmaker Luca Guadagnino (Call Me by Your Name) traces the life of Italian shoe designer Salvatore Ferragamo from his humble beginnings in Benito, Italy, to ‘Golden Age’ Hollywood, California and back to a studio in Florence. Combining a treasure trove of archival footage and incisive commentary, Guadagnino’s documentary is a portrait of a man whose vision, passion, and craftsmanship defined mid-century elegance for performers including Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, and Rita Hayworth and made him an enduring cultural influence.
