Land

Robin Wright makes her directorial debut with LAND, a moving drama of woman vs nature. Newly-widowed lawyer Edee (Wright) makes an impulsive decision after tragedy strikes: to pack up her life and head off-grid, to a remote cabin in the Rockies. Initially settling into what seems like an idyllic new life of fresh air and living off the land, nature soon imposes its will when the seasons turn from autumn to winter, and local hunter Miguel (Demián Bichir, The Hateful Eight) saves her from a near-death experience. Wright might be a first-time filmmaker, but LAND is a stunningly photographed and moving drama of one woman’s search for meaning in the middle of a vast wilderness.
